Privacy & Story Guidelines
Bragg Creek Social is built on stories from our community. Here's how we handle what you share with us.
Story guidelines
- Keep it local and personal. Stories about life in and around Bragg Creek: why you came, what it means to you, people worth thanking, places worth visiting.
- Keep it positive and respectful. This isn't the place for complaints, politics, or naming people in a negative way.
- Your own words and photos. Only send photos you took or have permission to share.
- Kids in photos. Please only include children if you're their parent or guardian, or have the parent's permission. We won't publish children's full names.
- No ads. Local businesses are welcome in stories, but straight promotions aren't.
How we review stories
Every story is read by a real person before it's published. We may lightly edit for length, spelling and clarity, and we'll check with you before making bigger changes. We may choose not to publish a story that doesn't fit these guidelines.
Your permission
When you submit a story, you give Bragg Creek Social permission to publish your story and photos on this website, in our email newsletter, and on our social media. You keep ownership of your words and photos.
Changing or removing your story
Changed your mind? Just ask and we'll update or remove your story and photos.
Your information
- When you join, we store your email address (and name, if you give it) so we can send you new stories.
- We never sell or share your information with anyone.
- Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can delete your account at any time from your account settings.
Likes and photos
Instead of comments, you can say thanks on any story with the clap button. Photos shared to the Photo Wall are saved privately for a volunteer to review, and only approved photos are published. Photo titles need to be family-friendly.
